The challenge

For the student housing of the prestigious Glasgow School of Ballet, the client was looking for a sustainable and reliable replacement of the existing hot water system. The original gas-fired boilers were at the end of their lifespan, increasingly malfunctioning, and spare parts were difficult and costly to obtain.

The solution

ECG chose a combination of an electric wall-mounted boiler (E-Tech W 36) and an HR s 800 liter tank-in-tank boiler from ACV. This solution offers high hot water capacity, fast heating times, and contributes to lower CO₂ emissions.

Technical execution

The installation consists of:

E-Tech W 36 electric wall-mounted boiler (three-phase, with stainless steel heating element)

HR s 800 liter indirect boiler (tank-in-tank stainless steel)

Complete switch from a direct-fed system to a primary-secondary system – ideal for larger buildings with longer pipes and focused on energy saving.
